Today there are only four weavers who weave this saree. this makes Bomkai one of the rarest handloom sarees of Odisha. Once upon a time, these were pagan ritual textiles adorned by shamans during the annual festivals venerating Goddesses of Fertility. Vriksh offers a revival of this Bomkai weave in a new avatar.
