PAAN

Originated from the Sanskrit word ‘Parna’ that means leaf, Paan (known as betel leaf) has a history of 5000 years in India which symbolizes strong bond and loyalty in relationships. Served mostly as a delicacy, Paan is also used as exquisite motifs in the borders as well as in the body of the handwoven tussar silk sarees across the country, including Odisha. The mesmerizing design and the pattern of the betel leaves are used as an inspiration in this collection of handloom silk saree. The natural dye-based mud resists technique of Rajasthani Dabu block print is applied here, keeping the cultural beauty of the local traditional art intact. The sarees are rich in texture and extremely comfortable to wear.
